About
Me - April 2010
By day I am a software professional in Boston, MA. As I have become more settled into my career and more established, I have had the opportunity to explore additional interests.
This blog started in the summer of 2009 as a site for me to work through my interest in Jewelry making and design. I realized that I enjoyed the practice of writing more than the process of making jewelry. So the site soon evolved into a focus on writing about handmade finds on Etsy and at local art fairs.
The Park Lane Post continues to highlight these handmade works. I am also incorporating artist profiles so that we can learn more about their day to day lives as artists. The Park Lane Post will also highlight other areas of interest, starting with philanthropy, travel and writing. The blog may evolve again – would love to have you along for the ride!

Hi David,
I am definitely interested in information about Philanthropic Travel. I only know of a few people who have traveled specifically for service but know that it is so fulfilling. In high school, I participated in the Appalachian Service Project for several summers. As an adult, I have completed two Team in Training events to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Service and philanthropy can mean many different things. What advice do you have to individuals who may just be starting their research for Philanthropic Travel?
Regards,
Lisa
